Suicide Squad Will End Its Content Updates & Seasons Early Next Year

It’s been a fun ride (and I use this term loosely), but the party’s over for the video game version of The Suicide Squad.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will not be doing any more Seasonal content after January 2025. Right now, the game is on its Season 4 content update, with a new character Deathstroke added later this week via Season 4 Episode 7.

Season 4 Episode 8 will be out next month, January 2025, making this the last ever update for the live service looter shooter co-op game made by developer Rocksteady Games. At the very least, the game’s offline mode will let you play all the game’s content without an internet connection, and you can replay past Season content with friends even past January 2025. As to whether the game will end its service, that is publisher Warner Bros. Interactive’s call.

Where did Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League go wrong? Apart from mediocre gameplay and that it was the developer’s first time doing a live-service action game, many players weren’t jiving with it as it made Warner Bros. lose US$200 million just for making and releasing it in an oversaturated market. As for the game itself, it was heavily discounted  -95% off- on Steam during Black Friday; that tells you what you need to know about the state of the game.
