AEW Wrestler’s New Theme Song Is Made By These JRPG Music Legends
All-Elite Wrestling wrestler Kenny Omega (who we bumped into at Tokyo Game Show 2024) is no stranger to video games. When he’s not arguing with other wrestler-slash-video-game-fan Xavier Woods on the merits of the Ys series, he is using Final Fantasy VII’s One-Winged Angel theme as one of his entrance music when getting in the ring. Hell, his finishing move in wrestling is called “One-Winged Angel”.
Kenny Omega is once again bringing his love for video games into the squared circle that is New Japan Pro Wrestling World in the Tokyo Dome, which took place yesterday. But instead of an existing theme, he is using an all-new composition from Final Fantasy composers Nobuo Uematsu and Masayoshi Soken. Voice actor & musician Jason Miller (known for his Final Fantasy XIV work) has provided vocals for the new song, which you can check out in Kenny Omega’s debut entrance below.

The composers were at the front row of his match as well, clearly having the time of their lives. It’s also good to see Nobuo Uematsu in good health following his issues the past few years.

And for the match he had? He fought against Gabe Kidd and won. For more on Final Fantasy music and JRPG soundscapes, check out our best OSTs of 2024 video.
