Black Ops 6’s New Zombies Map Is Coming
It’s time to gear up, Call of Duty Zombies fans. Treyarch is back with a fresh dose of undead mayhem, as Black Ops 6 Season 2 kicks off on 28 January. And the highlight? A brand-new Zombies map ominously dubbed The Tomb.
Set in the dusty remains of ancient burial grounds from 2500 B.C.E., The Tomb drips with mystery and danger. According to Treyarch, this excavation site had been untouched for centuries—until the early 1900s, when someone decided disturbing ancient catacombs was a brilliant idea. Now, players must follow the trail of Gabriel Krafft’s final words to secure the elusive Sentinel Artifact, all while fending off the horrors lurking in the depths.

The developers promise a claustrophobic, pulse-pounding experience, likened to Liberty Falls, a fan-favourite Zombies map. Expect tighter spaces, tonnes of Easter Eggs, and a reimagined Wonder Weapon that’s sure to please long-time players. Treyarch is keeping the finer details under wraps, but the tease alone is enough to send the Zombies community into a frenzy.
For those who love stats, here’s a fun one: since Black Ops 6 launched on 25 October 2024, players have clocked over 480 million hours battling the undead. And that’s not all—Season 2 will also introduce quality-of-life updates for Zombies, including a Challenge Tracker, separate HUD presets, a long-awaited co-op pause, and an AFK Kick Loadout Recovery feature.
Speaking of updates, Directed Mode—added last November—has been a game-changer. Designed to lend a helping hand in tackling the main quest, this feature lays out objectives on-screen, making survival a tad less daunting. Since its introduction, the main quest completion rate has climbed from a measly 3.38% to a (still modest) 8.23%.
Treyarch, ever the optimist, sees this as progress. “There’s still over 90% of players yet to complete a main quest, so our mission isn’t done. But we’re thrilled with these initial results and can’t wait to bring even more players into the fold.”
With The Tomb and these updates on the horizon, it’s clear that Treyarch isn’t just digging up old bones—they’re reshaping the Zombies experience for a new generation. So, grab your squad, sharpen your aim, and get ready to raid the crypt. This one’s going to be a thriller.
