HoYoverse will start the new year of 2025 with a galactic-level bang.

The company has announced Honkai Star Rail’s 3.0 update, called Paean of Era Nova. The new 3.0 update will feature a new story mode that takes players to the new world of Amphoreus; this Trailblaze Mission will last in all eight updates from 3.0 to 3.7. From the looks of it all, Amphoreus is a planet mixed with Greek and Roman mythology and architecture. It’ll be interesting to see how HoYoverse puts a spin on the most-used backdrop in pop culture (see Blood of Zeus, KAOS, and Hades as recent examples).

Leaving Penacony, the Planet of Festivities, behind, the Astral Express sets course for Amphoreus under Black Swan’s guidance, aiming to replenish Trailblaze Fuel and unravel this celestial body’s mysteries. Amphoreus, shrouded in a chaotic vortex, is undetectable and incomprehensible from the outside, while its inhabitants remain entirely oblivious to the universe beyond. What secrets lie within this enigmatic world remain to be discovered.

You’ll also be getting three new playable characters in the character gacha banner pools for the update: The Herta, Aglaea, and the Rememberance Trailblazer. The latter will be given to you through the course of the story mode. Moreover, in Version 3.0, several old friends will reunite with the Trailblazer: Limited 5-star characters Lingsha, Feixiao, and Jade will be making reruns. In the second half, the 5-star characters Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf will also be making a limited return.
