Indiana Jones & The Great Circle Cracks The Whip On PS5 Soon

Hold onto your fedoras, PlayStation fans—Indiana Jones and the Great Circle might finally be swinging onto PS5, and we now have a clue as to when.

The game first landed on Xbox Series X | S and PC on 9 December 2024, quickly becoming a smash hit with an 86 Metacritic score on console and 87 on PC. While many will think my rating of 60/100 was unnecessarily harsh, a 60/100 is still a good game. When I reviewed it, I just couldn’t justify the price tag attached to it. That said, it’s still a thrilling treasure hunt packed with Hollywood-style spectacle and enough secrets to make even the most dedicated archaeologist weep.

Sony fans have been waiting for their turn, and now, French retail sources (as reported by Gyo) suggest they won’t have to wait much longer. A physical PS5 release is allegedly set for 17 April, meaning the digital version will likely launch at the same time.

Meanwhile, developer MachineGames is already hard at work on story DLC titled The Order of the Giants, expected to launch in 2025. And according to Lucasfilm Games’ top brass, there’s an appetite for even more Indiana Jones stories in the future—because, let’s be honest, the world can never have too much of a wisecracking adventurer dodging boulders and punching Nazis.

This PS5 launch is the latest move in Microsoft’s multi-platform expansion, a strategy that’s clearly working, as the company became the industry’s biggest publisher in December 2024, thanks largely to Call of Duty. So, while Indy is dusting off his passport for a PlayStation adventure, Microsoft is happily counting its gold like a modern-day Belloq.
