New Battlefield Gameplay Leaked To No Surprise
By Lewis Larcombe|March 10, 2025|0 Comment
In what might be the least shocking development since someone tried to microwave a fork, Battlefield 6 footage has leaked online. Electronic Arts (EA), in its infinite optimism, thought it could keep a lid on its Battlefield Labs testing, but, of course, the internet had other ideas. Because if there’s one thing gamers are good at—aside from missing shots they definitely should have hit—it’s leaking unreleased footage.
The highlight of the leaks? A glorious clip of a player firing a rocket at a building, which then crumbles into a magnificent cloud of dust, rubble, and pure childhood nostalgia. This little moment of destruction has sent fans into a frenzy, with many reminiscing about Battlefield’s long-lost “Levolution” days—when entire map layouts could shift after a well-placed explosion.
In other words, Battlefield might finally be doing Battlefield things again.
5 minutes gameplay, thoughts?

If there’s one thing Battlefield has always excelled at, it’s making gunfire sound like it could actually hurt someone. The leaked footage proudly carries on that tradition. The weapons thud, the explosions roar, and the environmental audio is so immersive you could practically smell the burning debris.
With 3D audio now more crucial than ever—especially with the rise of competitive shooters where hearing a single misplaced footstep can be the difference between victory and a keyboard-snapping defeat—this attention to sound could be one of Battlefield 6’s strongest assets.
After Battlefield 2042 dropped the ball so hard it nearly caused a seismic event, EA is desperate to get this one right. Instead of locking the devs in a room and praying for a miracle, they’re inviting players into the development process, testing the game’s core mechanics before tweaking weapons, vehicles, and gadgets.
For now, only a select few in Europe and North America are getting in, but EA plans to expand testing to tens of thousands more over time. Because what could possibly go wrong when you let more people in on your secrets?
And just who is responsible for crafting this new Battlefield? That would be Battlefield Studios—a group of four teams under EA’s command. DICE is in charge of multiplayer, Motive is working on maps and single-player content, Criterion is handling the solo campaign, and Ripple Effect is… well, doing something mysterious. Probably a new game mode. Or a battle royale. Or a battle royale with a new game mode.

Early reactions suggest Battlefield 6 might actually be on the right track. If EA plays its cards right, this could be the game that brings Battlefield back from the dead and once again makes it a staple in the FPS world.
But, of course, that’s a big if. And in the meantime, expect more leaks—because relying on gamers to keep a secret is about as effective as using a sieve to carry water.
