The Last Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch Is Out Now; Find Out What’s New
All good things have to come to an end; so do constant updates to one of this generation’s best computer role-playing games around.
Developer Larian Studios has released its last update for hit CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3. The new Patch 8 adds the following:
- Cross-play between PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Mac.
- Photo Mode
- 12 New Subclasses with new abilities, VFX, animations, and summons
- Modding Toolkit Update, which brings partial level editing and quality-of-life updates to Baldur’s Gate 3‘s official Modding Toolkit.
Today’s patch delivers some of the most-requested community features for Baldur’s Gate 3 since launch in the form of cross-play and photo mode, while throwing in 12 new subclasses, as a treat. Patch 8 also adds Steam Trading Cards, allowing those playing on the platform to craft badges and unlock exclusive profile backgrounds and emoticons to use there.
Each of Baldur’s Gate III‘s 12 playable classes gets a new subclass following today’s update, featuring new abilities, animations, VFX, unique summons and powerful cantrips. In the case of the new Paladin subclass, the Oath of the Crown Paladin, new voiced dialogue for the Oathbreaker Knight is also included.
As the final major content update for Baldur’s Gate III, Patch 8 passes the torch for future additions to the community. To aid them in this endeavor, the official Modding Toolkit Update is launching today, bringing with it quality-of-life updates, partial level editing for existing items, characters, and triggers, all of which will allow increasingly ambitious projects to be realized. For instructions on how to get started modding, and for tips and tricks, those interested should visit the Official Baldur’s Gate III Toolkit Documentation.
