Marvel Rivals Glams Up For Season 2 With Hellfire’s Emma Frost This April

A new mutant is joining the Marvel Rivals fray next week.

Netease Games has announced a new season for its hit third-person PvP shooter featuring Marvel superheroes: Marvel Rivals Season 2: Hellfire Gala. As you can tell from the name, it involves ex-Hellfire and current X-Men lead Emma Frost since she’s going to be a playable character in the game. Emma Frost is a Vanguard who has telepathic powers (that rivals even Jean Grey and Professor X in the comics/animated shows) and can transform into diamond to protect herself.

Netease’s design of Emma Frost seems to focus on one major area of the character to highlight. Just take a wild guess as to where.

Here’s the event description, as it takes place after all the Dracula and vampire nonsense in the previous season:

“It’s the most glamorous night of the year, darling – Emma Frost herself invites you to the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa! ?? Once a year, this sovereign Mutant island opens its gates, welcoming both friend and rival alike to shape a brighter future. Now stranded in the year 2099 by a raging temporal storm, the fate of Krakoa hangs in the balance, its ecosystem suffering from dangerous chronal energy. Can a night of glittering festivities bring unity over fine dining and dazzling conversation? Who among the attendees possesses ulterior motives or solely seeks to party? And who is the uninvited guest?”

You can expect to unlock new X-Men and superhero “Gala” outfits in the upcoming battle pass for the game. Marvel Rivals Season 2 will be out in 11 April.
