Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed – Again
Bad news for anyone hoping to punch Nazis with vibranium claws this Christmas – Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed. Again. The Uncharted-but-make-it-Marvel game won’t be gracing our screens until early 2026, because, according to Skydance, they need “more time to polish it.” Translation: it’s not done. Not even close.
Now, this isn’t just any Marvel game – it’s a cinematic action-adventure set during World War II, where Captain America and the Black Panther of that era (Azzuri, T’Challa’s granddad) reluctantly team up to stop Hydra from turning Europe into a fascist theme park. You’ll also play as a Howling Commando bloke and a Wakandan spy named Nanali, all four characters being playable. Yes, it sounds ambitious. Yes, it sounds awesome. But that’s the thing with ambition – it takes time. Sometimes a bit too much.

Back in early 2024, Skydance gave us a slick cinematic trailer during Epic Games’ State of Unreal event – all vibes, no gameplay. Since then? Radio silence. But now they’ve broken it with a sheepish post on social media, saying they’re cooking up “exciting things” and need a bit more time. Possibly a new gameplay trailer is coming, or maybe they’re just trying to calm the mob with vague promises. Who’s to say?
Behind the wheel is Amy Hennig – you know, the writer-director behind the Uncharted series. That’s a good sign. She knows how to tell a story where people jump off collapsing buildings while having emotional revelations. And it’s running on Unreal Engine 5, so even if it crashes and burns, it’ll look gorgeous doing so.

This is Skydance New Media’s first real outing, and all eyes are on whether they’ll deliver the next big single-player hit… or if they’ll cave in and pull a Marvel’s Avengers – you know, the live-service disaster that made us all forget it even existed. Let’s hope it’s the former. Because if I see a battle pass in this game, I’m throwing my PC into the Seine.
So yes, we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we can don the stars and stripes or the panther claws and punch fascism in the face. Early 2026 it is. Until then, maybe just read a book. Or play Uncharted. Again.
