Xbox & Asus ROG Team Up To Make New Xbox Portable Gaming Handheld
With the Steam Deck still being the hot new portable gaming PC device right now, companies like ASUS Republic of Gamers’ division are competing via its Asus ROG Ally series: powerful handheld gaming devices that can play the best PC games. With rumours of Xbox going into this market, we figured this morning’s Xbox Gaming Showcase would be where things are made official.
And they are: Xbox is teaming up with ASUS Republic of Gamers to create the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X: two Xbox-branded portable gaming PCs with different specs.
Both handhelds run on AMD processors that deliver premium gaming performance, immersive visuals, and more.
The Xbox Ally offers great value for anyone looking to take their favorite games wherever they want to play, whether it’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Gears of War: Reloaded, Lies of P, South of Midnight, or many more. It’s powered by the AMD Ryzen™ Z2 A Processor—balancing performance and power consumption to maximize battery life without sacrificing gameplay quality—16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage
The Xbox Ally X offers more for players looking to get the best level of performance and visual settings from their favorite games on a handheld. It features the AMD Ryzen™ AI Z2 Extreme processor—allowing us to power the latest AI features as they are introduced— double the storage to have more native games at your fingertips, and 24GB of high-speed RAM that more demanding games crave. The Xbox Ally X also features impulse triggers for more immersive play.
Here are the tech specs for both devices:
How Much Is The ROG Xbox Ally/ Ally X in Malaysia?
Price tags will be announced at a later date, but the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X will be available in the following Asian countries at launch this holiday:
- Singapore
- Japan
- Thailand
We’ll definitely hear more from Asus, but at this point in time, Xbox is only selling its portable gaming hardware at these select Asian countries.
