One of Malaysia’s biggest anime conventions is happening soon this month: Animangaki 2026.

A long-running tentpole event happening this third quarter of the year, Animangaki boasts a slew of showcases, presentations, booths, and special guest appearances involving all things anime (and some gaming).

Special Guests

Aya Hirano

The iconic voice behind Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucy (Fairy Tail), Konata Izumi (Lucky Star), Amane Misa (Death Note), Migi (Parasyte), and the newly announced Vesna in Genshin Impact, Aya Hirano has continued to inspire fans around the world with her incredible talent across anime, music, and stage. 

This year marks a truly special milestone in her remarkable journey; celebrating the 25th anniversary of her CD and voice acting debut, the 20th anniversary of her solo artist debut, and the 15th anniversary of her musical theatre debut.

Kotoko

One of Japan’s most celebrated singers and the iconic vocalist of the renowned music production group I’ve, KOTOKO has sold-out solo concerts at legendary venues like Yokohama Arena and Nippon Budokan. Since her major debut in 2004 with Hane, she’s delivered countless unforgettable songs for titles such as Shakugan no Shana, Accel World, Hayate no Gotoku! and recently, Needy Streamer Overload, in which she sung INTERNET YAMERO and INTERNET OVERDOSE.

Stereo Dive Foundation

Created as a sound-making project by multi-creator music artist and producer RON, STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION blends profound melodies with futuristic synths and distinctive track-making, carving out a unique sound that has become a staple across the anime music scene.You may know his work from anime titles such as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Dimension W, Moriarty the Patriot, and Kyoukai no Kanata.

Jacob Takanashi

An American voice actor based in Tokyo, Jacob has brought to life memorable characters across anime and games, including Kinich (Genshin Impact), Chibi Godzilla (Chibi Godzilla Raids Again), Richt (Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius), Eniac Neumann (Card-En-Ciel), Pacciani (Captain Tsubasa), and Griff (Far-Fetched)! 

Beyond voice acting, Jacob is also a talented actor and musician, appearing in the Japanese drama Oi, Handsome! while lending his powerful vocals to the Far-Fetched soundtrack “Adventricular” and stunning covers like “Addict” (Hazbin Hotel) and “Face My Fears” (Kingdom Hearts).

Hidetaka Tenjin

An accomplished illustrator, designer, image board artist, and voice actor, Hidetaka Tenjin’s impressive portfolio includes work for renowned brands such as BANDAI SPIRITS, HASEGAWA, and GOOD SMILE COMPANY, alongside countless other projects.

A master of mechanical art and design, Tenjin has contributed to iconic titles including Macross Zero, Macross F, Gundam, and Genesis of Aquarion, with mechanical design credits spanning Hellsing, Macross Δ, Knights & Magic, Super Robot Wars T, Back Arrow, and Yasuke. Most recently, his stunning artwork has also been featured in Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu, where he created artwork for many of the film’s key promotional posters.
