OBS Is Now Available On Steam

Calling all streamers; OBS is now officially available on Steam. The Steam version of OBS will even carry over all your settings if you already have the normal version on your PC. However, there won’t be cloud saves.

As for everything else, they will work like the standard OBS. You can install plugins, and the Steam version doesn’t limit how many games you can run, so you can capture game footage the same way you can with the standard version of the software program.

In their FAQ, the developer stated:

Over the years, we have received requests to publish OBS on Steam as it provides a convenient way to install and update software. For many users, it is one of their primary sources for the programs on their machines.

In general, we want to offer OBS through various platforms to reach both our current and future users as easily as possible. This includes our presence on the Microsoft Store for Windows and our most recent expansion to Flathub on Linux. Steam is part of this endeavor.
