Tekken’s Katsuhiro Harada Reacts To Elden Ring Mods In Tekken 7

The director and producer of the Tekken series is clarifying that the recent Elden Ring mods are not an official creation.

Producer Katsuhiro Harada, who is also the production general manager in charge of Elden Ring given his Bandai Namco position, had to clarify on Twitter that the mod is not official. It’s from a creator named Ultraboy who adds eight characters from the From Software epic RPG to the PC version of Tekken 7. These include:

  • Melina (Lidia)
  • Malenia (Kunimitsu)
  • Alexander (Gigas)
  • Prisoner (Lee)
  • Radahn (Marduk)
  • Raging Wolf Armor Tarnished (Kazuya)
  • Ranni (Kazumi) with Torrent the spectral steed (Kazumi’s Tiger)
  • A giant lobster (Heihachi)

Here’s his actual quote on the matter:

“Um … Sure, Elden is a Bandai Namco-funded title, and I was the production general manager in charge of Elden, so it’s not irrelevant … it’s ridiculously well-made mod but plz stop it lol.”

When asked if Harada meant he wanted people to stop making mods for Tekken 7, he replied that the message is only meant for people to stop assuming that it’s official.

“You probably don’t know, but there are surprisingly many people who think this is [an] official one or make various understandings and contact u. I don’t say anything for your personal enjoyment, but I want you to know that there are people in your community who make noise based on misunderstandings.”

Tekken 7 is still around and being played on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The game still has no rollback netcode, and may be one of the very few mainstream fighting games of 2022 to implement this.
