Forspoken Gameplay Teases Devil May Cry-Style Combo Grading System
At Gamescom 2022, publisher Square Enix and developer Luminous Productions have unveiled a brand new gameplay video for Forspoken with 10 minutes of new footage.
It looks like the game will include a Devil May Cry-style combo grading system. As Frey, players will be graded on their spell use with meter counts up from rank D to A, with experience multipliers offered for doing well. The meter increases based on a number of situations, from using specific spells enemies are vulnerable to, stringing multiple spells together, evading enemies using parkour, and switching spells mid-combat.
There will also be over 100 different spells and abilities.
Open-world action RPG Forspoken was recently delayed yet again from its previously-planned 11 October 2022 release date (which itself was already a delay) to 24 January 2023. It will be available for PS5 and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
