New Returnal PC Leak Reveals DLSS & Ray-Tracing Support
Another Returnal PC leak has revealed that the game will apparently receive PC upgrades and improvements. The leaked footage first appeared on Icon-Era after being uploaded to YouTube.
However, the video has since been taken down by Sony Interactive Entertainment at the time of writing. The clip gave us our first look at the Returnal Screen Optimizations settings, which include:
- Resolution scaling – Rendering the game at lower than native res for increased performance.
- Dynamic resolution – Letting the game automatically lower resolution during demanding scenes.
- DLSS – Nvidia’s popular AI-based upscaling technique is included. Nice. It has Performance, Balanced, Quality, Ultra Performance, and Ultra Quality options.
- AMD FSR – AMD’s upscaling technique is here too, with the same options as DLSS.
- NIS – Another Nvidia upscaling technique that doesn’t require an RTX graphics card.
The rest of the graphics settings also reveal unlocked framerate support and ray tracing for both shadows and reflections.
We’ll have to wait for Sony and Housemarque to officially announce Returnal PC to see if any of this is legit.
In the meantime, you can check out my review of Returnal here, or head on over here for a guide to surviving the game.
