Ben Stiller Dresses Up As Kratos In New God Of War Ragnarok Ad
Want to see a bunch of comedians ham it up in a new PlayStation game ad? Look no further than this new God of War Ragnarok video ad, because lord knows the very serious video ads for the game were too intense.
Spanning at 2 minutes and 49 seconds, the ad features Ben Stiller who dresses up as Kratos, John Travolta, and Lebron James with their children in a parent-child counselling session in a fancy room. Said room is decorated with pictures of the game’s main heroes Kratos and Atreus, along with taxidermy bears and wolves, as well as drinking horns.
The ad itself is the brainchild of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s global marketing team, which touts the ad as a “Super Bowl-level spot” (via Entertainment Weekly). I think there’s some comedy and wordplay in here beyond the novelty of seeing the Zoolander guy in white-and-red Kratos cosplay, I guess. Humour is subjective, after all.
