Vanillaware’s Next Big Fantasy Title Is Almost Finished
Vanillaware, the company behind the critically-acclaimed visual novel-slash-strategy title 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, is almost done with its newest title.
According to founder George Kamitani (via Nintenderos), the fantasy game that the company teased back in 2019 is at the end of development. It’s also going to be the company’s biggest game yet.
“In March 2019, for reasons I won’t get into, we released only the prologue of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, but it did include a video of our next title in it. And now, it’s finally finished.
While I’m not the director of that title, it’s one of Vanillaware’s biggest productions, so please look forward to it.”
Kamitani also said that he’s working on another title, but it won’t be finished for several years.
“Lastly, the title I’m working on right now won’t be finished for several years, but once that big title I’m telling you about is finished, I should get some development staff, so development of my project will finally move into full swing.”
Vanillaware’s recent game, 13 Sentinels, is out right now for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It’s one of the company’s best titles so far due to its epic sci-fi plot and fun strategy gameplay.
