Sentinels VALORANT Roster Signs Marved As Their Substitute

Marved, a renowned Valorant player from North America, has returned from his break to join Sentinels, one of the top teams in the region. He’ll be filling in for SicK as the team’s sixth man for the 2023 VCT Americas League season.

Hunter “SicK” Mims got suspended from Sentinels on 6 March, after being charged with criminal trespassing, which eventually led to a Class B misdemeanour. Sentinels’ CEO, Rob Moore, tweeted two days ago that the team is on the lookout for a replacement since the Americas League’s inaugural season is only a few weeks away.

Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, formerly of OpTic Gaming, was one of the best Controller players in the world during the 2022 VCT season, thanks to his excellent mechanical skills and expertise in various utilities. He has also won a major Valorant LAN event and finished as a runner-up in two more major events.

Although Marved took a break from esports after the 2022 season ended, he joined his friends under the banner UNTAMABLE BEASTS to compete in the NA Valorant Challengers League Open Qualifiers. His break left him with limited opportunities, but SicK’s situation opened up a spot for him on a franchised Valorant roster.

Marved may not be ready to return to a starting lineup, but as the team’s substitute, he can stay connected with the pro scene by practising with Sentinels regularly. While he may not get much playtime due to his role, his talent and experience can undoubtedly help the team achieve their goals in the ongoing VCT season.

Roster

Here is the full roster for Sentinels in the upcoming VCT Americas League season:

  • Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  • Zachary “zekken” Patrone
  • Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi
  • Bryan “pANcada” Luna
  • Rory “dephh” Jackson
  • Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen (Substitute)
  • Don “SyykoNT” Muir (Head Coach)

Marved’s addition to the team has strengthened their roster even more, and it will be exciting to see how he fits into the team’s dynamic. With the VCT Americas League season just around the corner, Sentinels and their fans will be eagerly waiting to see how they perform with their new addition.
