Honkai Star Rail Launches This April For PC & Mobile; Console Versions Out Later
Time to set sail into space with HoYoverse’s next game.
Honkai Star Rail, a free-to-play turn-based RPG set in space and features a main character who beats the crap out of enemies with his/her magic space bat, will be out for PC and mobile (iOS, Android) on 26 April. The game will also be out on PS5 and PS4 on a later date.
Honkai Star Rail takes place in a sci-fi space fantasy mash-up world all revolving around the space train you take to get to different planets, each with their own tech, culture, and problems you need to solve as Trailblazers. Just like any gacha game with hot anime waifus and husbandos, you spend real-money for a chance to win a high-end Trailblazer, ranging from a hot milf who fights with a killer drone to a hot teen who fights among the shadows. Also, one of Malaysia’s top voice actors Su Ling Chan plays Bailu, a support-type Trailblazer.
We spent a few hours in the closed beta of the game, and so far it’s really promising if you’re into turn-based JRPGs that happen to be free-to-play. I’m curious about the game’s extra events post-story, but so far the combat seems fun-if-familiar, since you exploit elemental weaknesses to get ahead just like in other JRPGs. Having a main character who literally batter ups enemies is a plus.
