Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Story Trailer Teases Return Of Old & New Villains

At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Insomniac Games unveiled a new story trailer for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The highlights in the trailer include the return of Martin Li AKA Mister Negative, a closer look at Harry Osborn AKA Peter Parker’s best friend who was absent in the first two games, as well as our first look at Venom himself in action.

At this point in time, we still don’t know who the identity of this version of Venom will be, but the ending of 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man heavily implies that it will be Harry Osborn. I guess we will have to wait and see, but if that’s true, this will be another case of 2015’s Batman Arkham Knight, where the developer chose to hide the identity of the villain until after the game releases despite it being extremely obvious who it actually is (as correctly deduced by comic book fans).

In other related news, last month, Geoff Keighley hosted the Game Awards 10-Year Concert in Los Angeles, a one-night event featuring live video game music from the last decade. The concert played music from many games, including the first public performance of the main theme from the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

The track, ‘Greater Together’, made its debut during the live event, but you can now listen to the song via Spotify.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch for the PS5 on 20 October 2023.
