During the Indie Horror Showcase last night, publisher DreadXP announced Creepshow, a game based on the horror anthology franchise of the same name. It will launch for “multiple platforms” sometime in 2024.

The Creepshow game will feature the talents of “renowned independent video game developers” and developer Brian Clarke, who is acting as its creative director and who previously worked on the horror game The Mortuary Assistant.

Creepshow began as a 1982 American horror anthology film directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King, which is itself inspired by the retro horror comics of the 1950s. The franchise has since expanded into two more movies and even an ongoing TV series on Shudder, which is already four seasons in and extremely recommended for horror buffs.

The teaser trailer for the Creepshow game doesn’t reveal much about its gameplay, but it will likely be in the vein of similar interactive narrative horror games such as Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn and The Quarry.

It will be interesting to see what the video game will turn out to be like, especially for fans of horror.
