Spy x Family & Street Fighter 6 Animated Crossover Unveiled Ahead Of Collaboration

Capcom has a history of collaborating with various video games, and now they’re extending that trend to include anime. Recently, the company unveiled an animated short film for Spy x Family vs. Street Fighter 6, in anticipation of an upcoming collaboration event within the fighting game.

The minute-long animation, produced by Studio Wit (the team behind the Spy x Family anime), showcases Yor Forger facing off against Chun-Li on the Nayshall stage from Street Fighter 6. The animation mirrors the 2D perspective of the actual fighting game, featuring a vibrant and visually striking sequence of exchanges between the characters.

There were prior hints about this collaboration, and now more details have emerged on the fighting game side. From 9 January 2024, Street Fighter 6 will incorporate collaboration items for a limited time, coinciding with the release of the Spy x Family Code: White film. While specific details about these items remain undisclosed, drawing parallels with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover suggests they might include avatar items and stickers for the Battle Hub, potentially leading to a surge in appearances of the character Anya.

While the idea of having Chun-Li don Yor’s dress as a costume is intriguing, its feasibility is uncertain given the recent release of Outfit 3 in the game. This collaboration marks SF6’s second anime crossover, following the inclusion of Baki the Grappler earlier in the year, with additional Battle Hub items from that collaboration still available.
