Smite 2 Announced
There’s going to be a new MOBA (mobile online battle arena) in town involving gods & deities. Well, a sequel, actually.
During the Smite World Championships this week on 12 January, developer Titan Forge and publisher Hi-Rez announced Smite 2 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. No release date has been given, though the game will be available to play in a closed alpha state testing phase starting Spring 2024. Which is right now until April.
The launch version of Smite 2 will feature 25 gods, including the ones from the original Smite. Smite 2 will be a MOBA with “more impact, more strategy, and more creativity”, featuring full cross-play and cross-progression with unlocks transferrable between PC and console versions of the game.
As for the first Smite? Titan Forge will still support the game for the future, with a 130th hero to be added later this year. In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
