[Rumour] Resident Evil 9 Set In Fictional Southeast Asian Island; Out Early Next Year
Capcom is planning to count to 9 with its survival horror game series Resident Evil, and will take place on an island unlike any other in the series.
According to survival horror game leaker specialists Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 9 will be out for PC and consoles on January 2025. The survival horror game will be open-world, and will close the story arc that started in Resident Evil 7. So yeah, the Winters family and Chris Redfield will be involved somewhat.
Here’s where it gets interesting for gamers in Southeast Asia: Resident Evil 9 will take place on a Southeast Asia-inspired fictional island, somewhat resembling a rural Singapore town not unlike a kampung. Or maybe a hybrid of one.

Dusk Golem’s predictions on Capcom survival horror games have been spot-on. Still, take this with a grain of salt until Capcom announces something this mid-June, or even at this year’s Tokyo Game Show 2024.
