Street Fighter 6 Season 2 Balance Update Video Showcases New Wakeup Options & New Buffs

It’s been a year since Street Fighter 6 is out, so it’s only a matter of time until the game got a balance overhaul.

With Season 2 starting soon when Akuma drops into the roster on 22nd May, the game will get a major balance update. One of the major additions is the new recovery Drive Reversal option, which gives everyone a new wakeup tool. This new move will push opponents away if you’re cornered, beating out grabs, Drive Impacts, and so forth.

Other additions include:

  • Ryu’s new Denjin Charge cancel after a target combo.
  • Luke being able to combo Heavy Punch into charged Light Flash Knuckle without needing Drive Rush.
  • Kimberly cancelling her Overdrive Bushin Senpukyaku into her aerial Level 2 Super.
  • Manon’s back Heavy Punch connecting with OD Renverse kick follow-up.
  • Cammy can perform Drive Rush cancel out of her heavy punch, heavy kick target combo.
  • Lily can combo Light Kick into crouch Medium Kick on counter for OD Wind Strike.
  • Ken can combo his crouch medium kick into running Shoryuken.
  • Rashid can connect grounded slide into level 3 Super.
  • JP can cancel the first hit of his OD fireball into his level 2 Super.
  • Zangief’s crouching Heavy Punch causes a ground bounce on Punish Counter, leading to combo opportunities.

Season 2’s balance patch and Akuma will be in the game and game’s roster respectively on 22nd May.
