Honkai Star Rail 2.4 Update: Yunli Guide & Best Builds

Honkai Star Rail’s storyline is heading back to the Xianzhou Luofu in its 2.4 update, and introduces a new character while it’s at it.

The new character is Yunli and carries a big sword, as well as has beef with Cloud Sword guy Yanqing. She’s also the spotlight character in the character gacha banner these next few weeks in Honkai Star Rail. Here’s the lowdown on Yunli:

Honkai Star Rail: Yunli Character Overview

Yunli is a swordfighter who uses Physical Element and follows the Path of Destruction. She specializes in single-target attacks, follow-ups, and counterattacking, with one of her major skills being a counterattack pose that goads enemies to attacking her. As such, she can pile on the hurt with counters and follow-ups.

Take note that her Ultimate is useful when it’s out early and just before enemies attack.

Yunli Best Build & Relics

Yunli’s primary stats is CRIT, so use relics and LIght Cones that boost that.

The Wind Soaring Valorous x4: This increases her Ultimate Damage after pulling off a follow-up attack.

The Ashblazing Grand Duke x4: Gives her a damage bonus as her follow-up attacks can hit up to three enemies.

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters x4: Yunli’s Taunt goes well with the boosts from this Relics set.

Inert Salsotto: These Ornaments give her follow-up attack and Ultimate damage.

Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves: These Ornaments increase Yunli’s CRIT damage as long as your team dishes out follow-up attacks.

Yunli Best Light Cones

Dance at Sunset: Gives Yunli CRIT damage and the Firedance effect which boosts follow-up attack damage.

The Unreachable Side: Increases her CRIT Rate and HP.

Something Irreplaceable: Increases ATK and boosts DMG when she defeats an enemy, or gets hit.

On the Fall of an Aeon: Increases Attack and provides DMG boos when she inflicts Weakness Break on enemies.

Yunli Best Teams

For a free-to-play team, we suggest the following team composition:

• Yunli
• March 7th (The Hunt)
• Pela
• Lynx

The latter 3 will support Yunli as she herself is your sole damage-dealer. Pela reduces defense and March 7th (The Hunt) can buff Yunli’s CRIT.

If you got lucky with past gacha banners, you may consider the following team setups:

• Yunli
• Robin
• Tingyun
• Huohuo

This team has the same idea as the F2P one, but have better spells and skills to give Yunli Ultimate energy to pull off her counterattack stance quick.

• Yunli
• Topaz
• Robin
• Huohuo

If you need another DPS in the team, Topaz can complement Yunli with follow-ups galore. Robin and Huohuo will provide support.
