Two New Games Based On John Carpenter’s Halloween Are In The Works
Two new games based on the 1978 horror slasher classic Halloween directed by John Carpenter are in development at Boss Team Games.
Both games are being developed with the involvement of the producers of the Halloween franchise (Compass International Pictures and Further Front) and input from Carpenter. One of the games is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.
Speaking with IGN, Carpenter said:
“As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly.”
According to the official description of the games, the games will allow players to “relive moments from the film and play as classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.”
Halloween is perhaps one of the most legendary and iconic slasher movie franchises of all time. It has previously been adapted into a game before but that was all the way back with 1983’s Halloween on the Atari 2600.
Boss Team Games is best known for developing asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game Evil Dead The Game, which was released in 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Boss Team Games CEO Steve Harris said:
“Everyone at Boss Team Games are huge fans of horror and Halloween obviously holds a special place in the hearts of all horror fans. Getting to work with iconic characters like Michael Myers and build on John Carpenter’s original vision is literally a dream come true.
Everyone at Boss Team is thrilled and honored to be working with Malek Akkad and John Carpenter to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience that fans of the movie and video games will love.”
