New My Hero Academia Anime Movie Releasing This Winter

A surprise announcement was revealed at the recent “2019 PLUS ULTRA STAGE” in the AnimeJapan 2019 event (via Crunchyroll), and a second My Hero Academia / Boku No Hero Academia movie has been confirmed to release in Japan sometime this winter.

Just like the first movie (My Hero Academia: Two Heroes) in 2018, the second untitled My Hero Academia movie will be supervised by the manga’s original author Kohei Horikoshi, who will also be providing character new designs.

It will be directed by Kenji Nagasaki, who was also the director of the anime’s three seasons and the first movie. To celebrate the second movie’s announcement, Horikoshi has produced a piece of art featuring protagonists Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and All-Might.

In other related news, Season 4 of My Hero Academia is slated to arrive in October 2019. Read the full story here. In the meantime, check out the PV announcement trailer for the second My Hero Academia movie below.
