Former Little Nightmares Devs Tease Upcoming Sci-Fi Game
In an exciting announcement, Section 9 Interactive, an independent video game studio based in Sweden, has forged a publishing partnership with Epic Games for a currently unannounced project, to be made available for PC and next-gen consoles.
The studio, known for its team of industry veterans, includes talents who previously contributed to the first two Little Nightmares games and LittleBigPlanet for the PS Vita.
While the new game remains untitled, early visuals suggest that it will draw upon the unique aesthetic found in Little Nightmares. Despite featuring eerie adversaries and a shadowy ambiance, Section 9 Interactive does not classify the project as a horror game. Instead, it describes the experience as a “sci-fi action-adventure,” developed using Unreal Engine 5.
Initial glimpses of the game reveal enemies that evoke the eerie sentiment of “In space, no one can hear you scream.” However, specific details, including a release window, have yet to be disclosed.

Epic Games expressed their enthusiasm about the collaboration on X/Twitter, stating, “We’ll be working with the talented team over at Section 9 Interactive to publish their next unannounced title, built in Unreal Engine. They’re DEEP in development… stay tuned for updates.”
