A Persona 4 Remake Is In The Works
What’s next after Sega and Atlus are done remaking Persona 3 for last year? How about a follow-up sequel?
According to multiple Sega insiders, it turns out that Persona 4 is getting the remake treatment ala Persona 3 Reload. This is also confirmed by a recent website domain registration report where Atlus registered the name “P4RE.jp” (via UltimaShadowX). Allegedly this version of the game will be based on the original 2008 release on PlayStation 2, with the Persona 4 Golden content like new character Marie to be sold in a US$30 season pass.
Persona 4 came out in 2008 for PlayStation 2 and was a critical darling. It earned rave reviews for its in-depth gameplay, RPG and combat, amazing soundtrack from composer Shoji Meguro, and narrative featuring a colourful cast of characters. The game also received an enhanced version called Persona 4 Golden, initially released for the PlayStation Vita in 2012. This entry was so popular it received an anime adaptation in 2011, a rhythm game called Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and not one but TWO fighting game sequels co-created by Arc System Works.
