Diablo 4’s First Big IP Collaboration Is With This Famous Dark Fantasy Manga

Blizzard is teaming up with a certain fantasy masterpiece for its first action RPG IP collaboration.

Diablo 4’s first external IP crossover will involve the dark fantasy manga series Berserk. While Blizzard hasn’t gone into detail about the collab just yet, they released a short animated teaser with a Barbarian showing a Brand of Sacrifice and equipped with the iconic Berserker armour and Dragonslayer sword from the series.

It’ll most likely be a cosmetics-related collaboration, where players will need to complete a battle pass to get freebies or even pay money for exclusive armour and weapon skins.

Berserk is a dark fantasy manga made by late author Kentaro Miura and is considered a very influential series in pop culture and video games. Without Berserk, there wouldn’t be any Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, or Cloud carrying a giant Buster Sword in Final Fantasy VII, as Berserk and its protagonist Guts preceded the aforementioned games. So it feels like a natural fit for Diablo 4 as that’s a very gothic and dark bloody title.

Diablo 4 and its Vessel of Hatred expansion is out right now for PC and consoles.
