This Iconic Transformers Villain Is Getting Its Own 24-Inch Statue
Action series Transformers has its own slew of iconic villains like Megatron and Shockwave. But none are as gargantuan and imposing as evil Cybertronian planet-eating god Unicron, portrayed chillingly by the late Orson Welles in the 1986 animated movie and has become a staple in all Transformers medium since.
So what better way to represent him than with a pretty detailed and giant limited-edition statue? Sideshow and PCS are partnering with Hasbro to create the Museum Scale statue of Transformers villain Unicron. Check it out in all its splendour below, as the statue is just a giant-sized Unicron sitting on its planet-crafted throne.
“Unicron cuts an imposing figure measuring 24? tall sitting atop a throne that looks to have been carved into the side of an enormous asteroid. His 43.5” wingspan expands beyond his rough hewn throne only adding to his imposing presence. Every inch of this titanic Transformer is covered in intricate detailing such that the interlocking plates, rivets and alien technology appear ready to shift and change form into the robotic planet called Unicron.
Unicron’s classic color scheme of grays and yellows has been updated and refined adding a sense of realism that brings new life to this planet-eating Transformer. Additional weathering and highlights add even more depth to an already eye-popping deco application.
The base for this Museum Scale statue is a jagged rocky throne, an interesting visual contrast to the steely mechanical appearance of Unicron. This titanic Transformer’s incredible power is on display as he effortlessly crushes the two planets in his hands, spilling their molten cores onto his makeshift throne.”
The piece is limited to 250 units worldwide and available to pre-order now. Hope your pockets are loaded, because this official statue costs US$3,500/RM15,166.
