Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live: All The New Game Announcements & Trailers

This year’s European E3 games showcase and expo, Gamescom, is bigger and better than ever. 2025 is the year where the already-big event feels more expansive and meaty, if today’s Opening Night Live livestream is of any indication.

Check out all the big game announcements and trailers on today’s show. We covered it extensively on X.com, but we figured a website version should be handy for those who want to see every trailer on one website post during the afternoon onward. In no particular order, here are our favourite reveals and announcements:

 

Bubsy 4D

From Fabrazz, the maker of Demon Turf and the upcoming Demon Tides, comes this new open-world 3D platformer starring the infamous bobcat mascot.

 

Absolum

The upcoming roguelite beat-em-up featuring magic & swords now has a release date: 9 October.

 

Denshattack!

What if 3D Sonic but as a train? That’s a helluva anime concept in this upcoming off-the-rails platformer.

The adrenaline-pumping, trick-infused ride that catapults you through 50+ levels of pure, exciting chaos. Drift around hairpin turns, leap over gaping chasms, and prepare for a heart-stopping showdown with a towering train battle mech boss! Inspired by the beauty of Japan’s scenic rail lines, Denshattack! propels you into an epic journey where speed, style, and strategy collide in a whirlwind of high-octane action!

Out in 2026 for PC and consoles.

 

Valor Mortis

From the folks who brought you the Ghostrunner games comes this new first-person Soulslike action title set in the Napoleonic Wars. Hence the uniforms and the bayonets.

 

Black Myth: Zhong Kui

From Sun Wukong to the ghost hunter with the 5 bats, comes Game Science’s latest action RPG. No gameplay though, as they’re hard at work on the project, but at least we know the China-based devs will be busy for the next few years making a follow-up to one of this generation’s best Soulslike action RPGs.

Resident Evil Requiem

New story bits featuring Grace and her mom Alyssa Ashcroft. Game’s slated for next February.

 

Ghost of Yotei Legends

Just like the first game, Ghost of Yotei is getting a Legends co-op multiplayer PvE mode featuring ghosts and spooks in Early 2026. It’ll be free for Ghost of Yotei owners, with the base game coming out 2nd October.

 

World of Tanks: Heat

World of Tanks but super-fast & action-packed (moreso).

 

World of WarCraft: Midnight

Here’s the new opening cinematic for the next Blizzard MMORPG expansion. Out in Early 2026; we heard you now can build houses to stay in.

 

Cult of the Lamb Woolhaven

New DLC for cult hit Cult of the Lamb, featuring a new winter wonderland/wasteland and new cult gods to deal with/convert. Out in Early 2026 as paid DLC.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando

New gameplay reveal of John Carpenter’s new 80s co-op first-person shooter title. Definitely looking like a 2026 title.

Out 18 November.

 

Fallout Season 2 (Amazon Prime Video)

The new TV show season now has Lucy and the Ghoul going to New Vegas in pursue of the former’s dad.
