NRG Announces Overwatch League Roster for San Francisco

NRG earlier today revealed their roster for the upcoming Overwatch League, representing San Francisco. Utilizing star power such as Shaq and J.Lo, the reveal also showcased a starry lineup with the likes of ‘iddqd’, ‘babybay’, ‘danteh’ and ‘sinatraa’ in the mix. Check out the trailer below.

It was an interesting reveal considering NRG already have an established Overwatch roster with prominent names to boot with the likes of  ‘numlocked’, ‘dummy’ and ‘ajax’ within their ranks. The formation of the San Fran roster built along the lines of a ‘super team’ with inclusions of ‘Danteh’ from Arc 6, ‘nomy’ from Immortals, ‘dhak’ from Selfless and ‘sleepy’ from Tempo Storm balks the trend of other teams, who drafted in whole squads to compete in the OWL.

Team Seoul will essentially be represented by champions of APEX Season 3, the boys from Lunatic-Hai while Team London, owned by the Cloud9 organization will be represented by APEX Season 3 runners-up, the KongDoo Panthera squad. In addition to those two giants, Team Dallas which is essentially North America’s #1 team, EnVyUs, recently announced the acquisition of former NRG DPS star Seagull. Which begs the question – what’s the reasoning behind Team San Fran’s roster buildup?

Anyways, expect more OWL news to come up in the following days. As the list of teams and rosters grow, so does the excitement for the very first Overwatch League season. Stay tuned as we will be covering the Overwatch League with not just news and coverage, but also in-depth analysis of the world’s most lucrative Overwatch tournament to date.
