The Southeast Asian market is rapidly growing into a hotbed for games development, consumer market as well as esports hub. The scene is vibrant with ideas and filled with enthusiastic individuals and companies who are ready to try new ideas which are unique to the region.

With a gaming market heavily influenced by the west, spurred by the Chinese market’s adaptability alongside the Japanese and Korean expertise when it comes to games development and esports arena; the SEA market is on track of being the next hub of the gaming world.

There is so much potential in the SEA countries and while we only focused on five countries in this study, the likes of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos should not be overlooked. With technology getting cheaper and widely available, expect rapid growth in these countries which would add a much-welcomed vibrancy and diversity to the scene.
