Sony PlayStation Unveils Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro. Everybody Loses Their Minds
In celebration of Sony hitting the 500 million units of PlayStations sold worldwide milestone, Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Singapore Branch (SIES) today announced that they will be releasing a special commemorative edition of the home console from August 24th 2018, and will be available at suggested retail price of MYR 2,149, or about US$530.Â
The first of its kind to be available in a translucent blue colour scheme, the device will be of a 2TB model and comes with a matching DualShock 4 controller, PlayStation Camera, mono headset and stand.
For those not planning on splashing the cash for the console, and/or just planning on picking up the DS4 controller, you’d be happy to know that it will be sold separately at a slightly bloated price of MYR259 – about US$64.
However, the coolest bit here would be that each of these limited units – all 50,000 of them – will come numbered, with each unique serial printed on the bronze strip next to the USB ports.
You know what that means: bloody scalpers hoarding units hoping to make a quick buck.
Anyways, it’s an awesome way to commemorate their sales milestone, and possibly the best sendoff for the PS4 now that the PS5 is just a few years away from its reveal. The “PlayStation 4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition†should be available for pre-order at your nearby game store starting this week.
Will you be trading in your current machine for one of these bad boys, or are you holding off for the red Spider-Man version instead?
