Need Help With Dragon Quest XI’s Red Doors? We Can Help!

Everybody loves treasure and loot, especially if you’re in a strange-yet-familiar fantasy land where you and your merry band of adventurers are searching for echoes in an elusive age. Okay, you don’t literally do that in Square Enix’s Dragon Quest XI, but you do level up and fight turn-based style with a motley crew of knights, spellcasters, and healers.

The best treasures and loot in the game (now out on PS4 and PC) are hidden behind Red Doors (via an anonymous tip-off). Once you reach a particular threshold in the game’s story (specifically in an area called Phnom Nonh), you end up with a magical key that can unlock these doors.

Just a heads up:

  • There are 15 Red Doors in total.
  • 12 of them are across the major mainland areas.
  • 3 of them are on small islands within the world.

Without further ado, here’s the list (via Reddit):

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age_20180819091724

  • Cobblestone (aka The Last Bastion): along the river on the east side
  • Downtown Heliodor: a house on the east side
  • The Hotto Steppe: in front of the crypt on the west side
  • Gallopolis: a house on the east side of the racetrack (this door should be a priority)
  • Gondolia: a house on the west side of the main bridge (this door should be a priority)
  • Zwaardsrust Region: down the stairs west of the inn (this door should be a priority)
  • Dundrasil Region: a small hut on the east wall across from the ruins
  • Puerto Valor: a house on the east side near the church
  • Lonalulu: along the western wall of the eastern path
  • L’Academie De Notre Maitre des Medailles: downstairs to the northwest
  • Phnom Nonh: on the second floor south of the armour shop (this door should be a priority)
  • Sniflheim: outside the city to the northwest
  • Insula Australis: on the island northeast of Gondolia’s port (accessed by boat)
  • Insula Centralis: on the eastmost island (accessed by teleport)
  • Insula Occidentalis: on the small island north of The Strand (accessed by boat)
