Here’s How Long It Will Be Before We Can See Daredevil Again
By Alleef Ashaari|December 13, 2018|1 Comment
Still lamenting the death of Marvel Netflix? I’m afraid there’s more bad news on the horizon. We won’t be receiving new movie/TV reboots or a continuation of any kind; not for the next two years at least.
Two. Freaking. Years.
According to sources at Variety, a clause in the contract for the four original Marvel Netflix shows states that these characters cannot appear in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation.
That means the earliest possible time we could even hope of seeing the likes of Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist again is sometime in 2020. What makes matters worse is that Jessica Jones won’t be able to join these characters at the same time, since it’s still getting a third season on Netflix in 2019.
The Punisher is said to be separate from the original contract that gave birth to the Marvel Netflix universe, so even if it’s canceled after its second season in January 2019, there’s a chance that it won’t be restricted by the same clause.
With Disney+ already gearing up for its own slew of exclusive Marvel and Star Wars-related content, it looks like we won’t be seeing the live-action adventures of Matt Murdock and the gang anytime soon.
That’s a shame, but it’s not like we don’t still have the comics starring these characters, as well as a gazillion other comic book movies and TV shows to occupy our time in between. We’ll be seeing these characters again before we know it.
