Arma III Is Getting Its First Paid-For Third-Party DLC
For those of you still playing the pretty-realistic military shooter Arma III, there’s new content heading your way. The upcoming paid-for third-party DLC will be out tomorrow on Monday, 29 April.
The DLC is called Global Mobilization, and it’s created by a two-person team called Vertexmacht. Here’s what you’re getting:
- a 10-mission single-player campaign focused in the inner German border from the perspective of a private in a West German army and a leader of a tank platoon.
- 17 multiplayer scenarios, including a deathmatch mode called “Fashion Police” where teams can change based on the clothing you wear.
- more than 40 new vehicles from the 1980s Cold War Germany scenario
- 21 new weapons
- about 419 square kilometers of terrain in both summer and winter variants, which is bigger than everything else in Arma III.
Developer Bohemia insists that this third-party DLC is not a paid mod, according to its recent statement.
“We believe that these DLC packs would not have otherwise existed or be possible as mods of similar quality and scope. Third-party DLC will never replace something that was available for free.”
For context, all third-party DLC must be a new project pitched to and approved by Bohemia, as well as go through a number of QA processes, legal and publishing support, and other needs throughout its development.
There’s no pricetag for the DLC, but you can check out more info about it here on the Steam page.
