Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Announced
By Alleef Ashaari|July 10, 2019|0 Comment
Nintendo has officially announced the Nintendo Switch Lite, a smaller and cheaper version of the existing model of the hybrid handheld console. It is designed to be played exclusively in handheld mode, with no option for docked mode.
The Nintendo Switch Lite is missing some of the features available on its bigger and older brother. The Joy-Con controllers are now built-in and therefore, unremovable from the device.
It also has a slightly smaller 5.5-inch screen, compared to the Nintendo Switch’s 6.2-inch screen, albeit still with a 720p resolution. It will also come in three colours: teal blue, grey, and yellow.
Besides that, the battery on the Nintendo Switch Lite lasts longer, and it has a proper D-pad now, unlike the Nintendo Switch’s separated directional buttons. Because the D-pad is king.
Fortunately, the Nintendo Switch Lite is still compatible with accessories like the Switch Pro Controller, and the Poké Ball Plus, as well as supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, and gyro controls.
In an interview with CNET, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said:
“We believe the two systems will complement each other and coexist in the market.”
It will launch on 20 September 2019 at a price of US$199.99 (or roughly RM800+).
