The Top 20 2D Fighting Game Characters Of All Time (Part 2)
#2. Vergil (Marvel vs Capcom series)
The half-man, half-demon swordsman who ruined Marvel. Though he was noticeably absent from the original release of Marvel vs Capcom 3, the announcement of his addition to the roster in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was certainly one of the most exciting things to happen to fighting games in a long time.
Being one of the coolest and well-loved characters ever, the UMVC3 iteration of Vergil had a lot to live up to if it was to properly capture the sheer badassery that this character embodies. Fortunately for fans and unfortunately for tournament players everywhere, the team behind UMVC3 did almost too good of a job with Vergil. To put it simply, the Dark Slayer is absolutely unstoppable.
Whether he’s leading a team on point, or going solo against an entire enemy team as the anchor, you should be afraid. Very afraid. When his theme kicks in and you hear the choir singing, you know that it’s about to get real. “Aw s***, here we again.â€
Bullshit, because Ryu is an overrated garbage can.
