Malaysian Football Set To Make A Comeback In Video Games Via eFootball PES 2020

Malaysia football will once again be represented in a video game, as the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) football club is set to make its debut in eFootball PES 2020. Our friends at JomGaming discovered this when Konami recently published a list of all the teams who will be playable in the upcoming game.

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) is listed alongside football clubs from other Asian countries underneath the AFC Champions League category. This marks the first-ever occasion where a Malaysian football club has appeared in a major AAA football game since FIFA 98, which featured the Malaysia Super League (Liga Super Malaysia).

However, the national Malaysian football team was most recently playable in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil video game for the PS3 and Xbox 360. That was the very last time that Malaysian football was represented, until now, that is.

Konami probably included JDT in the upcoming game because they were the champions of the Malaysian Super League 2019 edition. It’ll be interesting to see how the JDT team will be recreated in the game.

In other related news, check out the specs for the PC version of eFootball PES 2020 here, and head on over here to find out more details about the upcoming game. eFootball PES 2020 is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on 10 September 2019.
