Go Jaleco-Retro With This Ninja JaJaMaru Collection Later This Year
Remember that Jaleco arcade platformer Ninja JaJaMaru? Not many people do, but it was a fun diversion and one of those odd games you find in the 50-in-1 Micro Genius cartridge collections.
Publisher City Connection announced that it will release a Ninja JaJaMaru Collection on 12th December in its Japanese flavour for the Nintendo Switch and PS4. The collection will feature all five Famicom titles:
- Ninja JaJaMaru-kun (1985, Famicom)
- JaJaMaru no Daibouken (1986, Famicom)
- JaJaMaru Ninpouchou (1989, Famicom)
- JaJaMaru Gekimaden: Maboroshi no Kinmajou (1990, Famicom)
- Ninja JaJaMaru: Ginga Daisakusen (1991, Famicom)
…and also a brand-new game called Ninja JaJaMaru: The Great Yokai Battle, which looks like a multiplayer co-op title where you and your ninja buddy kill as many baddies on the screen as possible.
The trailer below even comes with a cool Japanese rap about the game, the legacy, and City Connection. Go watch.
I highly doubt any publisher wants to localize this in English; the series is obscure enough as it is. Still, I am glad we live in a world where people can play all these JaJaMaru titles without resorting to piracy.
