Final Fantasy XIV’s Nier-Themed Dungeon Brings In The Yoko Taro Feels
Final Fantasy XIV: The Shadowbringers is definitely quite an expansion. So it’s fitting that it’s getting hefty content update later this 29th October.
After pulling off the stops with an FFVI and FFXII-themed dungeons, FFXIV decides to bring in the long-awaited YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raid, clearly inspired by Nier: Automata and whatever the heck comes out of the unique minds of Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito.
This raid, dubbed the Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty, will have 24 players explore the Copied Factory dungeon where they will fight round-headed automatas. The trailer above shows that this dungeon will remain faithful to its source material from its weapons, to its Keiichi Okabe vocal choirs, to even its 2B-inspired costumes. You know, for you fetish-lovers out there.
There’s also a new update or two from this patch 5.1, including a New Game+ for the main scenario quests in Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers, a new trial called Hades (Extreme), a new Beast Tribe quest in the Garden of Dreams, and a few tweaks to the game’s crafting and gathering, ninja, samurai, and summoner jobs.
Definitely worth the wait for you FFXIV players out there; check out our endgame guide in case you’re still wondering what else you wish to do post-Shadowbringers ending.
