Joker remains the king of the box office for a second week in a row, as it surpasses more half a billion in box office revenue with US$543,928,787 worldwide (via Variety). Meanwhile, the Clown Prince Of Crime gunned down any and all newcomers last week, including the likes of Gemini Man and Nitrogen Studios’ The Addams Family.

The Addams Family (which has only been released in the US and Canada as of now) grabs second place on the domestic box office, with US$30,298,000 in its first weekend. Nitrogen Studios is best known for making the raunchy R-rated animated movie Sausage Party in 2016.

Meanwhile, Ang Lee’s atrocious Gemini Man expectedly flops and in on track to becoming a massive box office bomb, garnering only a measly US$59,500,000 in its first weekend worldwide. Against its production budget of US$138 million, it will surely be a financial disappointment of epic proportions for Paramount, Skydance Media, Fosun and Alibaba.

It remains to be seen how much longer Joker will be able to retain the box office crown, especially with fierce competition in the form of Maleficent Mistress oF Evil and Terminator Dark Fate in the coming weeks.
