Netflix has announced several details about its upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic and iconic anime, Cowboy Bebop, including the fact that it has already started production in New Zealand.
Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop will feature 10 episodes for its first season, with Tomorrow Studios (a partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios) co-producing. Fans of the original anime need not worry about the series not being faithful since Cowboy Bebop anime director Shinichiro Watanabe will be on consulting duty.
It is set to star the following:
JOHN CHO as Spike Spiegel
MUSTAFA SHAKIR as Jet Black
DANIELLA PINEDA as Faye Valentine
ALEX HASSELL as Vicious
ELENA SATINE as Julia
The official description reads:
“Based on the worldwide phenomenon from Sunrise Inc.,
Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts,
as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals.
They’ll even save the world…for the right price.”
