And yes, the Sega and Paramount movie is ranked higher than last year’s fantasy film Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Here are the scores of both films for comparison’s sake.

Not a fair comparison? How about pitting Sega’s mascot against Nintendo’s plumber?

This obviously isn’t indicative of the film’s quality. The Sonic The Hedgehog film is a film tailored for all ages, is by-the-numbers backed up with some appropriate casting, and somehow loves to plug Olive Garden for some reason. Plus, it’s only been a few days since the film came out. But it does show how the internet feels about a long-standing video game series that inspires creativity among the furry and Deviantart community finally getting a live-action adaptation they can call their own.
