Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Hits 5 Million Sales
By Jonathan Toyad|March 14, 2020|0 Comment
Monster Hunter fans can rejoice further: their hit action-adventure game-killer Monster Hunter World just net Capcom another few million in copies sold.
Or rather, its expansion Iceborne, which hit the 5 million sales milestone. This new figure includes sales from the PC version, which came out earlier this year. If you factor that with the console version sales, the Iceborne expansion alone is now the seventh best-selling game in Capcom’s library, overtaking Resident Evil 2 and two Monster Hunter games beforehand (Monster Hunter Generations and Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate). The base game alone clocked over 15 million copies in sales.
So yeah, congrats Monster Hunter World. It took a while to be successful worldwide, but all it took is perseverance and staying true to your tried-but-true gameplay.
In other MH-related news, the live-action Paul W.S. Anderson movie based on the franchise will be out September 2020 and stars his actual waifu Milla Jovovich.
