[Rumour] Capcom Is Working On A Resident Evil 4 Remake
Will Capcom be making reimaginings of past Resident Evil games after Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3? Do they love money? “Yes” to both questions, but which entry will be next?
Sources close to Video Games Chronicle said that Capcom will be remaking Resident Evil 4. The project has entered full production and will have a release window set in 2022. The game will be developed by Osaka-based M-Two, the new studio founded by former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami. Capcom’s internal teams and external studios will lend their support to complete the project.
In the meantime, we may be getting a Resident Evil 8 for current and next-gen consoles in 2021. I said “may” because Capcom still hasn’t made this official yet. Honestly, I’m not sure if RE4 needs a remake as every Resident Evil game for the past few years have been using part 4’s third-person camera shift.
I think this is just Capcom possibly buying into their own hype and thinking they can do no wrong with more Resident Evil rehashes and reiterations. Last we checked, part 3 has its issues.Â
