You Can Now Register To Be The First To Pre-Order The PS5
By Alleef Ashaari|August 27, 2020|0 Comment
While we are still waiting for an official price and release date for the PlayStation 5, Sony is giving its fans with an opportunity to register and sign up to be one of the first lucky people to pre-order the PS5 when the pre-orders eventually opens.
If you go to the PS5 Direct Pre-Orders page on official PlayStation website, Sony explicitly mentions that “there will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation”.
The reservations will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you are selected, Sony “encourages you to follow instructions and act fast.”
Those who are interested are required to share their PlayStation Online ID and, if selected, Sony will email them the instructions to pre-order a PS5. Therefore, you need to make sure that the email attached to your PlayStation ID is up to date.
Sony also released a FAQ for these PS5 pre-orders, stating that the selection of who gets chosen for a PS5 pre-order is “based on previous interest and PlayStation activities”, whatever that means.
Are they check our PlayStation Network levels or amounts of trophies collected? Who knows?
Those who are selected will be able to pre-order the following, if they choose:
However, there is currently a major caveat and catch to all this. The registration is only open to those in the US for now. Technically though, even if you live outside the US, you can still register and have it shipped to a “US-based address.”
Unfortunately, any registrations with a non-US based address will automatically be cancelled as of now. At the time of writing, it remains to be seen if Sony will be doing the same registration for early pre-orders in countries outside of the US, but stay tuned on Kakuchopurei for future updates.
In the meantime, head on over here for all our coverage and news regarding the PS5.
